I cannot promise that this is the problem, but this is where mine was broken, and you may be able to fix yours this way.
I was able to remove the plastic around the tender and access the motor. Using alligator clips, I was able to connect the battery directly to the motor, bypassing the circuit board. The motor functioned, therefore the only component that seemed to be defective was the circuit board, located behind the speaker in the engine unit.
As far as I know, the only place to buy a replacement circuit board is from
www.tigerimports.com. Search for part number MEVA0024. Cost is around $15 + shipping (around $6 or so).
I should be receiving this part by the end of the week and will report if it fixed the problem.
