if your camera has a switch for display or camera modes, then you may have to switch it to display mode to view the pics on your computer with the usb cable. When the switch is in the camera mode it will usually try to install it as a web cam and won't show any pics.
To see music in the music folder on your computer, change to MSC in USB mode in the player from:
Main Menu > Settings > USB mode
For firmware FW 1.01.11 and below on the Sansa Clip the selection for USB mode switching is not available: For adding this selection update the firmware of the player.
You could also force the player into MSC mode using switches/buttons on the player.

Connect your iPod to your computer as you normally would with the USB cable. Step 2 Open iTunes if you don?t have it open on your computer already. You will be able to access photo options from here. Step 3 Choose ?Preferences? from the iTunes menu. This will pop up a tab where you will be able to complete step 4. Step 4 Click on the iPod tab in the screen that will open up after completing step 3. Step 5 Select the ?Photos? tab in the ?iPod? pane you chose in step 4. Step 6 Choose the ?Synchronize Photos From? checkbox and select either "iPhoto," "Choose Folder" or "Pictures" (as in your pictures folder) from the pop-up menu. try this and see if it helps
Assuming safely that you have a Dell E173 monitor, i would suggest the following steps to fix this...
1. Press the (+) button on your monitor to make it do an auto-adjust of the display.
2. On the on screen display (OSD) which can be evoked by using the menu button on your monitor - use the +/- key to get the factory reset option high lighted and press on the menu button to execute it.
This should take care of your problem, let me know how it goes!
