Webcam problems my web cam keeps turning off and saying it s not connected what do i do

    exact same thing. very frustating to have to turn your system off and back on again go through the problem of getting back on the internet need a permanent solution other than rebooting

    solved now..isn't it..the webcam is suffering from connection issues inside of the lcd panel

This is common problem among HP laptops, even i am getting the same issues every now and then. what to do? if this occurs, most of the time i just restart my laptop and it goes fine again after restarting. if its gone bad, i go ahead and reinstall my webcam driver. you can do this by:

  1. click on start, all programs and hit recovery manager.
  2. when the recovery manager wizard pops up, click on the advanced options button
  3. select software program re-installation and click next twice
  4. select HP Quickplay / DVD play (hp quickplay program includes hp webcam drivers as well). hit next twice
  5. restart your computer.
again, either restarting the computer or reinstalling the webcam drivers work for me. should work for you too.

Disconnect the web cam, from the computer, and reboot without web cam. After the computer comes up,connect the web cam and the computer should recognize it, if not reinstall the firmware again.

My webcam is saying the webcam is being used in a different application but it isnt what should i do???
First try to disconnect the web cam and reboot and then try connecting it if that does not work then try to uninstall the web cam software and driver and reinstall it back . the web cam can you used by only one software at a time . Now it is stuck with some software. uninstalling and reinstall the web cam software will reset it .

i had the same issue with my webcam from logitech if i remember correctly, you'd need to update the drivers first. i would also try uninstalling yahoo and reinstalling it. i know that worked for me
