Check the outlet by plugging an appliance into the same outlet the
washer was plugged into an running the appliance a hair dryer works good
for this it will draw some amperage. If it works fine move on.

To check the control remove the top panel and then remove the console to
access the wiring to the control. Find the wire feeding the control
from the main power cord. If you cannot visually see this refer to the
tech sheet or service manual. Connect voltmeter to the 2 wires feeding

Please determine if the "Audio" button is actually working.... after pressing the audio button, can you still control the DVD, if not then the remote has switched to the Onkyo. Although, this is not 100% conclusive, unless you have a 2nd remote to test the Onkyo with, it provides a sound basis to proceed.
Assuming the remote is transmitting and the IR receiver on the front of the Onkyo is not otherwise blocked, likely faults include the IR receiver, input to the Micro processor, and the Micro processor.
The most probable fault is the IR receiver.

you will have to do a number of elctrical tests to determine signal is being recieved etc.All the tests can be done with a cheap testlight'/probe.Some of the recievers/activators have internat/external fuses. The first test should be to check that the reciever/activator has a good supply of power.try that first and let me know if you need more assistance
