Hello The decoder IC inside has the fault. In most car DVD models this Ic is integrated with the touch screen. You may have to replace the screen as whole unit.
If only a week old you have good reason to take it back to where you bought it for a refund or replacement item. DO NOT ACCEPT A REPAIR AT THIS STAGE.

sound to me that the unit may be stuck in defrost. look for the time clock and or if it is a newer unit check your condenser coil it may be dirty. the unit may also have a leak on the refrigeration side of it.
