does your model have separate board for backlight ? or is it integrated with TCON ?

Hello, If there is a complete darkness on the screen, it is likely that the problem is on the card that responsible for providing backlight to the screen. Known as invertor. Sometimes the causes are: 1 loose contacts across the card. 2 the main ic that is number begins with OZ .3 More rarely missing of the 24V voltage that provided to the invertor, in this case you should check the power supply. in this case i have to know if your tuner is working fine or not. First of all i like you to connect any external player Exp. DVD or blue-ray player if that works with audio then it is inverter board. if audio doesn't work then its main board. Also you will find out that if dvd is working fine on your tv than your tv setting is wrong or the tunes is dead. either way if tuner is gone then you have to change the main board. Either way let me know what went wrong i can provide you more information about what part need and where can you get it from.

its the invertor board/open back ull see about 10 little plugs going into invertor get number on board or get repaired only takes one to fail for no picture

If the screen went dark blue, this is the way that sets mute the video to protect the tube. However If the screen is very bright blue with possibly blue lines going through the screen, either the blue gun in the CRT has failed which is unusual but can happen or the driver transistor/IC which drives the blue gun has gone short circuit. If you know how to use a meter, you can perform a comparison check by comparing say the red O/P TX with the blue O/P TX. Ian

While the TV is on do the following:

1. Press the "Right Arrow" button on the remote.
2. Press the "Left Arrow" button on the remote
3. press the number keys in order, 1-9

I believe you are in the TV's service menu and the Blue/Green/Black are just test patters. If so, pressing these keys will eventually change the pattern..

Get to the main page of the service menu and press the [power] button on the remote.

Normal color picture is composed with 3 colors R-G-B (Red-Green-Blue). Picture turns Red means: Missing Green and Blue colors (many reasons: bad contacts, projector tubes dead, and other...). Try to give some "tabs" to diagnose ... I don't know what is the type of your Projection TV, how long you owned it, to have more idea.
