Unfortunately the Avermedia Quickplay doesn't support audio. If you want the matching audio too, you'll have to either use your computer's native audio (if it's in the same room), or hook it up to your TV with a separate cable.
Hi Nickluck
Depending on the OS and Drivers, DirectX version I presume 9c, check your AverMedia TV card, in other slot PCI, and reinstall drivers, if required. Should work.
but, drivers, too for the Video Card, if Nvidia? download the latest.
Good Luck
Hi,
Most brand/models will work for your laptop as long as the correct drivers are installed for the laptop's OS (Vista).
One thing noticeable is slight heat build-up on most PCM CIA cards. On the other hand external TV via USB connection tend not to heat as much and does not load nor draw power from the laptop since they have their own power adapters. Both however will have a lower video quality compared to cable directly connected to TV connection.
There are a number of models from AverMedia which should work straight out. My experience with Leadtek models has also been satisfactory so far.
Hope this be of some help to you. Post back should you need additional information.
good luck and kind regards.
plug and play simply means that the unit is supported within windows and does not require a driver to be installed, although this peice of hardware gives many options as to connection the pc graphics driver still needs to be told to either duplicate(clone) the screen to your tv or change the screen from monitor to tv, this is normally done by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop and selecting graphics options or the menu will already appear to enable you to click to change your view.
Dont forget also this unit only supports 1024x768 desktop resolution
