Watch stops when stem is fully engaged

Changing the date for the FT500WVB watch is easy. Just pull out the stem of the watch to its first stop. Then turn the stem counter clockwise a couple of twists and the displayed date will increment (that is increase) by one day and you will hear a little click. Keep twisting the stem counterclockwise and the date will increase by one each time with a little click. Stop when you reach the correct date and push the stem back in to its fully seated rest position. Note- be careful not to change the date when the watch displays a time between 9pm and 1 am as setting the date in this time range may cause the watch to increment the date at noon rather than midnight.

Note also that if you want to set the time you just pull out the stem to its second stop position and twist the stem to advance the position of the hands of the watch. Then when the time is set, push the stem back in to its lowest rest position. So remember- first stem stop sets the date and second stem stop sets the time. That's it.

Quartz watches stop working most often for one of three reasons: (1) dead battery; (2) dirt in the gears blocking the train; and (3) a bad crystal. This is the order in which I typically troubleshoot watches.

If the watch isn't working after you change the battery, first check to see that the stem is fully pushed in. A watch movement can shift just enough inside the case that a stem sometimes looks pushed in, but isn't quite in far enough to re-engage the movement. Pull out and push in the stem a few times to see if that changes anything.

Next, assuming that the battery is indeed fine, look closely at the second hand. Is it moving at all, even a tiny bit? Hold the watch up to your ear. Is there any kind of "chunk" sound about once every second? If you can answer "yes" to either of these questions, a speck of dirt has gotten into the movement and is preventing the gears from moving freely. It doesn't take more than a a big spec of dust to cause this. Sometimes, advancing the time will move the gears enough to cause the dirt to fall out. Some watch repair places also have a special machine that spins the hands rapidly to blow out or compact any dirt in the train. It's usually not economically rational to have the movement professionally cleaned beyond this point.

Finally, if you don't hear anything coming from your watch, the battery is good, and the setting stem is pushed firmly and completely into the watch movement, you may have a bad quartz timing crystal. It does happen, and when it does, the only repair is to replace the entire watch movement. Sometimes, that's affordable; sometimes, it just doesn't make sense.

The small bottom dial is seconds counter and there is no option to set or reset it as it is part of the main gear train - it just counts the seconds. Top right dial is 1/10 seconds counter and runs only when the chronograph function is engaged. One full circle indicates 1 second. Top left dial is 30 minutes counter and runs only when the chronograph function is engaged. One full circle indicates 30 minutes, two circles = 1 hour. The big centre seconds hand is actually Chronograph hand and runs only when the chrono function is engaged. So, the chronograph hand and two top dials works all together when chrono function is engaged. To start chrono: push upper button once. To stop chrono: push upper button again (once). To return all hands to zero: push lower button once. There is another option: if you already stopped chrono by pushing upper button, but want to continue counting without returning hands to zero, push the upper button once more and the counting will start from the point where it stopped. You can repeat this as many as you wish - it will count on and on, till you will stop it and reset to zero. Fine tuning of chrono hands can be made by pulling the crown half way out and while leaving in this position pushing and holding one of the push buttons (which one - depends on movement caliber). Read your manual carefully and you will notice that the big, tall seconds hand is part of chronograph function. So, by pushing upper button you are actually engaging chronograph. This puts more strain on movement gears and consumes more battery power. When your watch is in normal timekeeping mode, the small seconds hand is counting seconds, not the big one which should be steady pointed at 12. Be sure that the stem is pushed all the way in to engage the second hand. You might pull it out all the way and then push it in again.

On some watches - scuba usually - the crown has a rubber seal and that seal is engaged when the crown is screwed to the case. If your watch is like this, you need to unscrew the crown before you can pull out the stem. Twist the crown in a counterclockwise direction several turns. You will be able to tell when it is completely unscrewed because youwill feel spring tension. Pull out the stem to set the watch. When you finish, push the stem back in. Push against the spring tension and carefully thread the crown back onto the case. That should do it.

Have a watchmaker fix it...there isn't anything you can do.

"Chronograph" is watch terminology for 'stop-watch'.
There are 3 small dials on the watch.  The main dial has a minute hand and an hour hand.  The big second hand on the main dial is not for the main time of the watch.  It is for measuring seconds for the stopwatch.
The 2 small dials at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock will give you minutes and 1/10 of a seconds.  
There are 2 buttons on the side of the watch. Top Button:  Start/Stop Bottom Button: Reset
To set the chronograph to its default position, you would pull out the stem to the first position and push the buttons.  Also, pull the stem out further to the 2nd position and push the buttons.

You have to reset your watch. Pull out crown to first click and try to move stop watch hand by pressing one of the pushbuttons. If this do not work, push the crown back in. Now pull out crown fully tto the second click and try to manipulate with pushbuttons again.
After resetting stop watch hand to 0 push the crown in completely.
Job done.

No problem pulling it the way out its okey,Wind it the crown until calendar move so the hands move properly.When you going back the crown,push the crown hardly going inside while pushing, wind the crown until you reach the end so its locks properly,because has a thread needs to lock so it will not wind freely,that all Working guy, txt me whatever happen.
