Screen is blank when the camera is on.

I dropped my camera and now when I turn it on the screen is black. All the buttons and functions still work otherwise. It will take a picture but the picture is just a black screen.

Hi

The Digital Rebel XTi doesn't have 'live view' mode, you can't see what you're taking a picture of before you take the picture.

SOURCE: Black screen problem with Canon PowerShot SD 750

Did you accidentally press the DISP button on the back of your camera? This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. Try pressing this button one more time to see if it turns the screen back on.

Olympus 850 sw digital camera 2 yrs old! Used all day perfectly fine turned back on screen blank, still takes photos, Still flashes, still beeps when press buttons just lcd screen is black likes its off?...

Hi

Either the LCD screen is cracked or defective in some other manner. It's possible the LCD works but just the backlight is out as well. Either way, the camera needs to be opened and the LCD checked out.

The Olympus "Tough" and "SW" cameras are FAR FROM being either "Tough" or "S"hock and "W"aterproof. I have seen dozens and dozens of them with cracked glass over the LCD and destroyed by water damage. Sounds like something got inside your camera or it was badly dropped.

Hope this helps.

My iphone camera just shows a black screen when i touch the camera app and wont allow me to take pictures what can i do

pls see this First !! B4 reset
Straight from Apple Iphone Manual
Camera is not functioning
  1. Tap Camera, then point and shoot. Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation. If you do not see Camera on the any of the multiple Home screens, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions. If they are, set Allow Camera to ON or tap Disable Restrictions (in iPhone 2.1 software or later).
  2. If that doesn't work, clean the camera lens with the cleaning cloth that came in the box with iPhone.

Canon A620 No Picture

First try hitting the DISP button (sorry if this offends, but many people have made this mistake). If this doesn't help, next try resetting the camera. Turn on the camera, and hold the menu button for at least five seconds. Believe reset is also in the menus.

If the above doesn't help, then unfortunately this sounds like your CCD image sensor may have failed. This would then require professional repair. Contact Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON.

LCD Display Blank

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)

By the way, don't tell Canon that you dropped the camera. Sounds like the CCD imager was about to go bad anyway, and the drop just accelerated this.

Blank screen

If you can play back captured images without any problem then your camera has a faulty CCD sensor. If you can get hold of a new CCD sensor block for this model somehow then you can install it yourself. Otherwise camera has to go to your Nikon agent.
