Only FC Pro version 5.1 is supported on Intel Macs. This looks like an earlier version.
What version does it say on the side of the FC Pro or Studio box?

I can not update my mac to 10.9

Hard to say without knowing exactly what Mac you have and what specs, but most likely reason would be your system doesn't meet the requirements (From Apple support site) - To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
  • iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
  • MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
Your Mac also needs:
  • OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
  • 2 GB or more of memory
  • 8 GB or more of available space

I tried to install the cd and i get a response saying that the environment doesn't support it. i have a macbook pro

read the recommended minimum requirements for using the program. it should be on the label on the package. make sure your computer meets them and that you are attempting to install the mac version of the program.

I purchased WebPlus X2 last year. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. I need this software for a Mac. Can you help?

Serif's website says that the system requirements for WebPlus X4 (apparently X3 is no longer current) are:
  • Pentium PC with DVD/CD drive and mouse
  • Microsoft Windows® XP (32 bit), Windows®Vista (32 or 64bit), or Windows® 7 operating system
So the first thing to note is that there is no Macintosh version of the software.
That having been said, given that you own a MacBook Pro, you can install Windows on it, and run the software that way.For example, the product at
ComboDealDetails.aspx
includes a discounted copy of both Windows 7 and Parallels, which will allow you to run Windows 7 right alongside your Mac OS. The solution will cost you $140, but it is a very workable, very nice solution when you are forced to use PC software for a course, etc., but own a Mac.

Can i place a 4g and 2g stick in my macbook pro

Hello! The MacBook Pro you have mentioned can only support 4GB's total. 2GB's in the first slot, and 2GB's on the second slot.

What you may have seen by accident was that you can purchase either a 4GB kit, or a 2GB kit. Meaning a 4GB kit with 2 2GB sticks, or a 2GB kit with 2 1GB sticks.

Your best bet is to go with a 2GB stick in each slot to max out your MacBook Pro. 2GB's is the largest each slot can read.

For more information, check out the website below which has very detailed information on memory for various systems.

Macbook extra fan

The real issue seems to be that the system firmware designers haveoptimized for a quiet machine at the expense of the temperature. Theeasiest way to fix this? A firmware update, perhaps not unlike the one released recently with almost no details.Several reports from users indicated this update increased the use oftheir fans and fixed their heat issues. Isn't that an astonishingcoincedence?

Although Apple said that the update was to "System Management Control(SMC)" firmware, it was up to MacBook Pro (MBP) users to figure outthat SMC is the specialized controller that manages thermal and power conditions, and is in charge of running the portable's fans.
Within hours of the update, users began reporting that the updateseemed to increase the MacBook Pro's use of its fans, and usingdiagnostic tools, claimed that their machines were running up to eightdegrees cooler.
