Lawnmwoer starts fine blade engages but wont move fwd or reverse it is the lt1000 17.5 42in.dont know what to check and where i can get a schematic of the belt configuration
Is the brake sticking. On my craftsman mower there is a bar under the brake pedal that pushes back a lever when starting. And the lever sticks. I have to reach underneath and pull the lever forward and then the mower goes. I haven't found a solution to that yet.

When you look at the ignition, where the key goes, there should be a little icon of a mower with an arrow. After you start the mower, turn the key to this position. If it isnt there it wont go reverse, so after starting just move the key to that position and it should fix it. Go test it now and let me know if it works!
If its a riding mower it probably the drive belts off track or slung off. The mower will still start up and turn blades with the drive belt off, but want engage to go forward or reverse if this is the problem.
If your transmission is a 700r4 (4l60) you have a reverse band that engages when you want to go in reverse. since it drives forward your low reverse clutch and your fwd clutch are working. This leaves the band which was probably slipping now is not engaging.
Is the parking brake on? Or if it's a hydrostatic (automatic) there is a release lever to push the unit around when it isn't running. Most of those releases are on the back of the machine, and you just push it in for drive and pull it out to push.
