Today, after 3 months of ok performance (never very fast but acceptable), my htc touch 3450 has gone on strike - the main screen has stopped working, it won't sync or receive SMS & the response time to any stylus prod is incredibly slow - sometimes it just completely locks up. any ideas?? this is driving me crazy

ok..confirmed the issue..you will need to remove power source, hit power on button, hold for 30 sec, and then you can put battery back in.
not too good...sounds like the install went badly..can you hook this up to your computer, and do it from the original disk that came with the unit?
I'm in Hawaii, and logging off..you'll need those items to get to next level. There are no firmware updates for that model on the site..
i'd say you have a unit with memory that is highly unhappy(reminds me of the days of the 386, actually)

hmmm..... stuck on Windows Mobile welcome screen...
2 small problems, I can't find my cable or the installation disc. however, it has got back to the main screen but with the same original problems. the main clock on the today screen shows the time of the last power on, it will not sync or receive sms although it can send..??! weird huh? showing emails & sms received at the count from about 24 hours ago...
