Toshiba satellite p205-s6267 backlight

Hello, I have a Toshiba satellite p205-s6267 with a backlight issue.
It is like the backlight connection is loose as I can see the pixels on the screen it's just VERY dark. If I move the screen back and forth, the screen flickers on and off, which I believe is a short circuit.
Is there an easy way to lift the cover off to ensure the connection is solid?

    BO,

I appreciate your suggestion, but that did nothing. Again, the screen works just for a second when I slowly close the lid. Then it flashes off. In addition, when I shine a light at the screen, the pixels are visible it's just the back light.

Is there an easy way to determine if the backlight is fully plugged in?

    Bosa,

There is a short in the video cable that runs from the mobo to the inverter.

No water, no power related issues, just poor manufacturing. Seems others have experienced this too.

Your system is consuming much power.

Go to Control Panel, Power Options.

Click "Advanced Power Settings" for your current power plan.

Under the section "What happens when I close the lid", choose "Do nothing" for both "Battery" and "Plugged-in".

Click "Apply" and "Ok".

Now, close the lid of your laptop and open it, it would restore but next time don't overload your system power.

This is common with Dell and Toshiba.

Ask your computer enginner to open the laptop and go to the screen connectors and ensure that they are firm.

By the way, did water touch your screen?

Toshiba Satellite P205-S6267 screen is blank but backlight is on and external monitor out works

Your LCD panel needs to be replaced more than likely. There are plenty of youtube videos if you are a DIYer, otherwise take it to your local computer shop and they should be able to fix it up within a day or two for 50-100 dollars plus the cost of the part. Good luck... you can find all your parts on ebay if you decide to go DIY
