Most of the time this is caused by one of the tubes - for water transport through the machine - that has come off. It is also possible that the waterpump itself is leaking. You should bring it in at your retailer to have it repaired.
my senseo did the same. i read on hear to clean magnet/float mechanism inside the water resevoir. i did this with a tooth-brush and soapy water. as you invert the empty water container you will see/hear the float slide up and down when clean. work a treat for me.
That's one for the repair shop, really. The seal is usually bent inwards so it can withstand the pressure of the hot water, but once it's able to flex out it needs to be replaced.
Fill the Senseo's reservoir with the citric acid suspension,
Place a large bowl underneath the coffee outlet,
Press and hold both small buttons, and
Press the Power button.
The citric acid suspension will now be pumped through the machine, into the bowl. To stop the rinsing, press the Power button again. I suggest you repeat this a few times, don't forget to swap the pad holders somewhere in between so they both get some suspension as well.
After that, repeat the procedure a few times with fresh water only to get rid of any citric acid in the machine - it will make a poor cup of coffee if you forget that step!
When was the last time you clean it with vinegar? Run vinegar through it and you will see hard water scales that were built on the heater. Coffee makers should be clean out every month then with 2 rinse cycles after that.
Call senseo at 866-4-736-736 and describe the problem. it is the seaing mechanisim at the top brewwing portion that is loose, either you are not closing it right or the pressure is getting too high forthe seal.
