Red light blinking inside freezer compartment of Kenmor Elite, model 106 52603100. Ice maker has quit working. Is this blinking light a code?

    Same problem with me I tried reversing the connectors at the solenoids and that caused water to go into the ice maker but light is still blinking and ice in IM will still not drop.

    I have the same problem with my Maytag MSD2550. Its less than a month old. We heard strange humming noise last night from the freezer side. Made ice today until tonight. Now no ice and flashing light at the LM on/off switch. I have the model with the bucket in the door. Kinda lame there is NO mention of the light in the manual or on the website.

    I have a warranty. I'll repost when the tech comes out and fixes the problem.

The light may be telling you that the temperature is not cold enough to operate the icemaker.
You may have a bad defrost timer, heater or thermostat. If you have an ice bucket then it may ot be seated properly.

Kenmore Elite ice maker is not working & red light is blinking
Most likely a problem with the main ice making unit itself. I bought mine at ebay for $49 including shipping. Very simple to replace. You just swap the wiring harness and bottom plate. Takes about 20 minutes to do.
Make sure you do the IR led test. If you think you IR sender and receiver are bad to, $57 on ebay for the set. Most likely not your water solenoid in the lower back of frig (it gets the signal to turn on from the receiver module of the IR board.
Probably not your water filter (cuz the front water dispenser still probably works right?)
And probably not a clogged or frozen line.

Freezer not defrosting

You said, you have a Kenmore bottom Freezer Model 596.73503201. It works fine but the freezer has stopped defrosting. Any suggestions?

It is supposed to be auto or self defrosting.
What do you mean you are getting ice forming in the freezer?

Kenmore fridge
First we need to see if the compressor is running.  Pull the fridge out take off the lower panel on the back and see if you can hear it running.  Also, need to know if freezer fan and fan by compressor is running.  Check for thick frost build up on back panel in freezer.  Let me know what you find.
