Canon DSLR will not turn on

Hi there,There are a few things we can try/check here!
1.Turn the camera OFF. Remove the battery and clean the contacts (shiney metal strips) on the battery.2. Remove the lens and clean the lens contacts.3. If you have a body cap, put it on the camera (no lens, just to keep dust out right now).4. Reinstall the fully charged battery and turn on the camera.
It should start up. If so, turn it back off and reinstall the lens.
Also, be sure to check all the doors/hinges on the body. These are found on the battery and the memory card. They have electrical contacts on them that need be to be fully closed.
If possible, try a different battery (a friends, or take it to your friendly neighbourhood camera shop).
Hope it turns back on!

Have you made sure that the batteries are LiIon and fully charged? I had a similar problem with a Kodak Easyshare camera that required the higher voltage LiIon battery pack rather than alkaline AAs which will fit in there but is not exactly right.

When I turn on camera flash opens and then closes right away.

  1. If any accessory devices (memory card, lens, USB cable, camera or printer dock, etc.) are connected to your camera, disconnect them.
  2. If your camera is on, turn it off.IMPORTANT: Verify that the battery/batteries are installed correctly.
  3. Install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
  4. Turn on your camera.
  5. Set the flash to iconfillflash.gif.
  6. Take a picture.

E10 and s45 same problem

the batteries needed for the cameras are quite high powered

though the batteries show that they are fuly charged most times they have lost their actual capacity of power storage in them so not being able to supply enough to start the camera best way to test this is to start the camera on preview mode if this works then you will need to buy a new set of rechargable batteries, i would suggest to take batteries in the range of 2000MAh to 2500MAh and

the normal batteries will not be able to sustain long even for normal lens open and retract functions, instead of normal batteries try LR6 varieties (eg: Duracell, Energizer, etc)

Cameera lens will not open (expand) when turned on.

Please check whether you're using a fully charged battery.
After fully charging the battery if the issue still persists, please try Power Resetting the Camera.
To Power Reset the Camera.
First, please turn OFF the Camera.
Then, remove the battery pack from the Camera.
Then, press and hold the POWER button on the Camera for 30 seconds.
Then, reinsert the battery pack and check whether the issue is resolved.

Cannon G7 need help

Hi
Had the same problem a few months ago. There was a high pitchedwhisltle and I think the screen said "lens fault.turn off camera" or something similar.Bought a G9 to replace as the 7 was out of guarantee but sent the 9 back to the e-bay reseller as it was obviously secondhand with grit around the lens ring and the viewfinder.Ebay never again!.So 3 months ago ago I tried the G7 again with a fresh charged battery before I consigned the camera to the loft.I noticed that each time i switched on the whistle and message was there but the lens extended slightly further each timeso I kept rebooting until the lens was fully extended.Turned the camera off and on again and everything was back to normal. It seems that this may be Canons protocol when a camera goes back. Its been absolutely fine until today. It wont boot up at all.I have tried 2 fresh charged batteries and its dead.Any ideas anyone?

Casio EX-Z55 wont turn on after lens error

A lens error is something that can only be fixed my sending in to the repairs department. There is nothing that can be done at home to fix that.
