this tv is old now and thomson no longer have them in stock
the menu on the tv is very good and should cover all conections and inputs and tunning

they do not list them on there site but ask the question . THEY SHIP WORLD WIDE

the aspect is controlled by the on screen menu
if you can press the buttons on the side of the tv to get that screen menu then you can adjust the screen resulation

It sounds like you have no back light . This should be checked by an engineer. At the worse case the screen could be faulty

Check the batteries in the remote 1st. If that don't work, call a TV tech to replace the IR sensor in the TV
