Cant seem to download songs from my computer to my mp3 player
- One would think that it would be the same for all COBY players. If that's so, you can try this"
I use music in the *.mp3 format at 128mbs
1. I put all movies (avi or wmv), music (MP3s), photos (160x128pixels - jpg) or audiobooks in it's own folder (on my computer) in a folder called "FOR COBY"
2. Open the COBY Manager
If you've had to re-format the player (which is a great way to get all previous stuff off it), you can get the manager from here:
CobyMedia Manager fix for MP822 (Windows XP/2000/Vista)
Don't let it throw you that it says it's for the MP822 - it also works for the MP610
3. Plug your device into the USB port - it will show up in the "DEVICE" tab
4. Click on the "Music" tab.
5. You can get the music into the folder one of two ways
a. drag and drop from your COBY FOLDER/MUSIC FOLDER to the blank/empty space in the Coby manager OR
b. Use the "SEARCH" icon (7th icon from the left - looks like a magnifying glass.)
6. It will ask you "Do you want to add the file(s) to the library?" CLICK "OK"
7. If it's a lot of music files, give it time for them all to show up.
8. Right Click the song - Click "SYNCHRONIZE" and let it do it's thing - when it's done, it's on your Coby.
(I wanted a specific song for the first and last on the drive, so I synchronized just the first one. Then synchronized the 1365 others (the middle ones) together. Then synchronized the last song.
Is it REALLY THERE??? Yes. there are two ways to check it.
1. My Computer /Removable disk /open /music Mine shows up as G:Music/ file name.mp3
2. From COBY Manager,
a. CLICK "DEVICE" tab
b. Click on Music folder - there it is....
Use this DEVICE tab page to EJECT the Coby player.
It will have a pop-up screen to ask "Do you want to eject?" Click YES.
The second pop-up screen will tell you "The device can now be safely removed from the system.
The Coby will now show "Please Wait..." (Please do.... ;-))
It will take the Coby about 10 minutes on the Please Wait and then to UPDATE the Library - Be PATIENT
ENJOY!
Windows has a problem sometimes recognizing this drive. hook it up with the USB , then go to My Computer , then if the drive is not showing click the SEARCH tab on the My Computer file manager window. the drive should show up .. find it double click .. then go into the Music folder .. drag and drop your songs there ... make sure all songs are ID3 tagged first with Artist song name ect. . enjoy .. i lovew this little player .. scrap the earbud phones that came with it and get some good sony headphones .. i use the MDR-G57's loving it .. excellent sound ..
to delete file songs select the song right click on it .. delete it .. ez
