Sony Cybershot DSC S650 Memory stick not formatting

In a newly purchased Sony Cybershot, &.2 Mega pixel (Sony Cybershot DSC S650) when I tried to insert the Pro duo 512 megabyte memory stick. it tries to format but then message appears Formatting Error. Whereas same memory stick has correctly formatted in my other sony camera. I am stuck, is there any thing wrong with the camera as the memory stick is working with my other sony cyber shot.

I have a 7.2 cybershot and am having problems taking shots of moving objects. The delay when pressing the shutter and it actually working is a good 3 seconds. What should I be doing? On my old camera pressed the shutter half way to focus, then when fully pressed it instantly took the shot. This doesnt happen with the sony, thanks

Well I have the same camera.
And mine won't turn on.
Suggestion dont trust this camera.
Or maybe it just can't hold that much memory.

The root cause may be one of the below listed reason-

1.The internal memory has experienced a media error.Required measure to correct
this, "Turn the set power off and on again".

2.The internal memory has experienced a format error.Required measure to correct
this,"Format the internal memory."Please my blog for more.

Recently purchased Sony Cybershot DSCW180. Took 3

Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only.
Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu.
Thanks.

Will DSC-T1 accept a MARK 2 memory stick?

NO, DSC-T1 will not accept such big memory card as its hardware supports maximum 2GB card memory that is more then enough for it because its 6 mega pixel camera.

Sony cybershot dsc S650

To salvage the pictures you could just use a memory card reader. As for the camera itself I cannot say, but by your description it doesn't sound promising.
