Motorcraft premium gold coolant from your ford dealer. Mixing other coolants that are not recommended may cause gelling problems. If you do buy this coolant from your Ford dealer, read the directions on the bottle. You will have to mix it with water 50%- 50%

I need to put coolant into my 2006 Chevy Impala. The reserve is almost empty & I believe that is why my check engine light is on, is that accurate? What type should I put in?

Add the coolant. but this is not why that light is on. Have the codes checked and repost. use the green antifreeze that will mix with all of the antifreezes.

Can you use dex-cool in a 2006 scion xb

dex- cool is the orange coolant, you can use this only if it already has dex -cool, dont mix it with the green type coolant, if it has green coolant you will need to drain it before using dex-cool

What type of anti-freeze is recommended?

Many newer cars from GM require Dex-Cool, but if you read the labels of regular antifreeze, from Prestone, for instance, the warranty is still 5 years and it can mix with any color antifreeze.

I use regular antifreeze vs. Dex-Cool in my 1997 Cadillac Deville and, (knock on wood) haven't had any problems.

I believe that Dex Cool is a little bit more expensive than regular antifreeze.

Use a 50/50 mixture of whatever type you plan to use, though.

I find water in the floorboard under the dash of my ford 500 what

If it is antifreeze and water mix (you can tell by the smell) ten it is a bad heater core. If it is plain water, The drain for your air conditioner is likely clogged. There is a rubber hose that runs ou of the bottom of the firewall in the engine compartment. Try to push a long pipe cleaner into this tube. Most likely you will get some water coming out immediately i it is clogged. Let me know if this helps :)
