Model number 32V524T 32 In RCATv all of a sudden our TV just went out no picture and no sound but a BEEPING noice when the power comes on. What can the problem be and can we fix it ourselves? exactly 2 years from the date of purchase we were watching our tv and it just went black. no picture no sound and a chirping sound came from the back. we unplugged it and tried again the light blinks a couple times and a chirp but again no picture no sound and it will not shut off. can we fix it and how much?
Sounds like a bad horizontal transistor and flyback transformer . Do you know how to unsolder and or solder ? If so you might have a chance . If no the avg. to get repaired is around $90.00 to $130.00 so shop around as some shops will charge more . The parts you could buy your self for around $30.00 to 40.00 . Good luck and if you think you could fix let me know and see if i can get you part numbers .

I have a LG 42PM4700-UB plasma tv that just went black. The red power .... I have a RCA 32 inch it has no sound or picture !Just a light blue ...
the tv has one part of the power supply working this is needed to have the microcontroller ready to work. But the tv needs more than that for work im talking 'bout the high voltage power supply who is now damaged. the parts required depends on the diagnosis in the bench but at least two are needed. the cost of this repair of course depends in how many parts are going to be replaced, but i concider this repair kind of average in this technology.
HELLO.! IT SOUND'S LIKE A POWER SUPPLY PROBLEM TO ME.!!! & FOR THE TIME YOU WILL PUT IN TO IT & THE MONEY .!!! YOUR BETTER OFF GETTING A NEW SET.!!!HOPE THIS HELP'S YOU.!!!"GOOD LUCK"
The beeping sound is most likely the high voltage generator needing replacement. This is a fairly easy job if you have some tech support to discharge the picture tube. You can go to the following link and leave them an email with your model number and your symptom and they will email you back with the part you need and they provide free tech support with instant messageing so you can do the repair yourself. the HV generator takes about a half hr to replace and takes only the basic soldering ability. heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
This indicates a problem in the power supply either the low voltage switching supply or the High voltage power supply. The sounds you hear is the shutdown circuit activating, I would not suggest that you try to repair this problem because of the dangers involved. I would suggest that you take it to a qualified TV repair shop. This problem should not cost you much, however it is the best choice for the problem you described.
This sounds like something best handled by an experienced tech since the fix involves extreemly high voltages nearby, If you have a very good knowledge of the inner workings of tv's then ask for more information.
You have a bad flyback transformer and shorted horizontal output transistor.
Your set would have to be taken to a shop to have these parts replaced.
