There are two steel sticks inside my Kenmore oven, on the bottom wall, up right corner... One of the sticks is like pulled away, and there's a wire coming from the same place the stick is coming. There's also a piece that seems to get them together (it attaches the stick to the wall) but still don't know what to do with the wire. Since the wire is kind of exposed, I'm afraid to use the oven but cannot figure how to repair this, knowing where and how the wire should be... Any clue on this?
I'm also not so sure my oven is a Kenmore 30169 model. Could be another model, but I can't tell. It simply doesn't show the serial anywhere...
You can go to www.searspartsdirect.com . and input your model numver to view the exploded parts diagram.it is sometimes diffcult to give great advise with out visually looking at the machine

Hello purrpplee - If the smell is coming out of the oven vent, more than likely it is something inside the oven that is creating the odor. Also, keep in mind that new cooking products can create a burning electrical odor when the bake and broil cycles are used as any residual coating or film on the oven liner and elements burns off. However, if odor increases consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis.

The oven was working fine, at least till the last day I used it, like a week ago... Somehow I noticed today that these "sticks" (Yes, they are the sensors. After writing my problem I did some Internet search) are slack, and one of them has a wire coming from the bottom of the oven. This wire is also like badly tied up, like if somebody had tried to repair it (or to hide the fact that the sensors are loose). Because of that, I'm afraid to get the oven to work. Probably nothing happens, but then I can't tell if the probe is really working to regulate temperature.
By the way, I found the oven model: Kenmore 9114028813.
