Do you have the board driver ? if you have board driver insert the cd and go to the Device manager and right click on the sound which show question mark inside the device manager then update the driver from CD the it will install it

select your oparatings system and downlaod audio drivers from this above link.

Manually install the driver by extracting it to a known location then use the device manager to manually locate and install the driver from that location. Also another alternative is to perform windows updates/custom and see if it does not find and install the audio driver. And not you do not need audio to use the rest of the computers functions not related to sound

Sound and audio device is not working because of the following problems

1.Problem related with sound driver
Solution: Re install the sound driver from u r motherboard CD.If u use PCI sound card install the driver software from the CD given by the vendor
2.Inorder to check u r sound driver related problem.....go to...Device manager....> audio devices.....> if there any Yellow coloured question mark on the sound device problem related with driver software.

3.May u r sound hardware is not working.....if it is on board card then add any PCI sound card and intall the software from the CD u will get the sound

possible issue is port configuration. if the generic text driver works, apd driver should work too.

what may be happen is that when you install the apd driver the other printer drivers that you have were still using the same port that your apd driver were using. example, you have generic txt assigned to lpt1 and then the apd were assigned on the same port, this is were you get the trouble.

what you must do is, first, check any printer driver that you have using the lpt, say for example, you generic text is using lpt1, when you install the apd driver set it to lpt2. apd drivers will create a new port normally called esdprt. try to use that port but if that will not work reassigned the port of your apd driver to lpt2 printer port then uncheck bi-directional support. from there you should be able to print..
