D-link dir625 any ideas on how to get my PS3 to connect to this d-link dir625 router wired or wireless?

It sounds like you may have manually assigned the same static(constant) IP address to both the wired PC and the PS3. Check both the settings in the router, the PS3 and the wired PC to make sure that an IP address is assigned to both.

Check parental controls for internet explorer. Open ie
click tools at the top, then internet options then content.
Under the content advisor option make sure parental controls are disabled

The D-link Router should work with its "factory" settings,
with most ISPs (Internet Service Providers), if you connect your
cable-modem or ADSL-modem to the 'WAN' or 'INTERNET' port on the router, and if you use an Ethernet cable to connect from one of the 4 'LAN' ports to the network-port on your desktop/notebook computer.

Once you have established a "wired" connection, and you can surf the Internet, follow the instructions in the manual that came with the D-Link to run the "Wireless Setup Wizard" to configure the "wireless" part of the router.

Add those "wireless" settings into your PS3.

I don't think you can with that model.

Look in the documentation for instructions on defaulting the router to factory settings. Default the router and only plug in a wired connection and see if you have internet access. If you do setup your wireless and check for any problems. If you do all of this and it still doesn't work power the unit down and plug a cable in the WAN port and the other end in port 1. Boot the unit up and try again. If it still doesn't work it's time to replace

The router should assign an IP address to your PS3 if it isn't manually configured. If you are connecting wirelessly make sure your security setting on your PS3 match your router. If the problem persists disable wireless security on your router and then try to connect with the PS3 with security disabled as well. Sometimes consoles have trouble connecting with WEP or WPA security encryption.

ps3 wireless card works with g and b mode only, sounds like your router is in n mode. you'll have to change it to mixed mode. to do that refer to your router manual or pdf manual in the cd.

When your laptop is working, check the ip address.
Open your DOS PROMPT, type iconfig then click enter. If your ip address on the laptop is 192.168.x.x, that means that you are getting your internet from the router. If your ip address is (just an example:68.x.x.x, that means that the router is not functioning properly.

If the laptop ip is 68.x.x.x(just an example), make sure that your comcast modem is connected to the INTERNET PORT of your router.

You just bought your router so the best way to deal with this problem is call Dlink tech support so they can walk you thru the router configuration.

One thing you might want to check is your firewall settings. Not the windows firewall but 3rd party firewall like Norton Internet Security. It will block your connection if it detects a different network. Also check the LED lights on the router, if you plug in an ethernet cable, does the light lite up on the corresondping Lan.
