Water damage on the ds lite

Tiffaney1115, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN!!!!! YOU WILL DO A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM AND YOURSELF!!!! LET IT DRY FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN TURN IT ON!

as long as the screens are still fine and work just change the motherboard. You could try drying it out, but the mistake alot of people make is when water is spilt on it is to turn it on to see if it still works, your best bet is to just take the battery out and leave it for about 48hrs to dry out. good luck

DSl's hate water they die instantly!! Keep away from any liquids.
You will need a new motherboard at least to repair it, water damage is impossible to repair.

if it was a long time ago, then get a new battery if it was recently like minutes ago then put it in a bowl of rice and have it covered in rice and take out battery

water damage, dropped it too many times, faulty hardware. probably water damage though, thats what happened to mine.

OK FIRST OPEN IT UP AND IF ITS STILL WET PUT IN A BOWL OF DRY RICE FOR 24 HOURS. THE NEXT IT WIL B COMPLETLY DRY. PUT IT TOGETHER AND TRY IT IF IT DNT WORK CHECK THE FUSES. HERE IS A LINK

Open every opening that you can and let it set for about a month to dry out. Hopefully, nothing shorted out from the water. Again, hopefully, you didn't turn it on.

Just leave it to dry in a nice warm place. If you try to remove it you could end up damaging your ds or spread water all through it.

I'm having the same problem, too. My sister dropped it in the bathtub, and then turned on the power without letting it dry. The DS still turns on and hold charges, but the screens are messed up with flickers and blurs.
As I know, if you drop it in the water, do not turn on the power or it will be fried. Just let it dry, and then power up again to see if it still works. If you already turned on the power while there was still water in it, it's toasted.

Components may have come loose on the board, or damaged solder joints. Water damage can sometimes only appear after water has had time to seep, unless knock helped throw some residual water around inside, onto things it shouldn't touch.
