The tray on the recording disc side of my Philips CDR775 2-Disc CD Recorder won't open if there's a disc in the machine. It reads that it's open, but isn't. Seems to open/close fine with no disc in the tray. It also seems to randomly be able to read the disc, but generally seems to spin the disc more loudly than usual. Right tray working fine.
This depends on what make of disc mostly the philips machines only work with their own brand of disc try placing an original disc if thats ok then its the blank cd that you are useing got to be philips brand

In this modern world with all these fancy computers and components, it's hard to figure out which is the fault. I have had several cd's that are bad and just won't work, too! Recorders are so picky and once a problem starts it's almost the end of it's life. I have the same problem with my recorder. I think after months and years of working and being overloaded, these machine just do not last very long. Sorry for the bad new!!!!!!
