Pool Heater Mis-reading Temp.

My pool heater (pentair mini-max nt) mis-reads the temperature. It says 85 on the red led display of the heater. But the remote reads 61 and the actual temp is 63 measure by thermometer. When we try to heat the spa it shuts down prematurely. When we try to heat the spa, the heater reads 111, but the actual temp is 76 and so its stops heating. If this is temp sensor problem, which and where do i replace?

Your temp sensors are on the heater, a small tube that slides into the water manifold, usually on the left side. On the remote it will be in one of the pipes coming from the pump or the filter. If it is after the heater you should move it to between the filter and heater. It will be a tube that is in the pipe with a stanless steel clamp holding it in place.
To find out wich one it is you will need to remove the remote from the system by takeing the wires that go to it from the wireing inside the heater and wire nuting the wires in the heater together. If the heater runs normal then it is the sensor for the remote if not it is the sensor for the heater. Let me know how you do and if need be we can get a little more specfic for your system. good luck.

If your remote has a menu, scroll to "calibrate". Then lower the preset temp. you would like. Start out only a few degrees at a time and wait for an increase in the actual temp of the spa. Put a pool thermometer in the spa to monitor the actual temp. You don't want to "over shoot" then it will get so hot that heater might have problems when it trys to restart.

DDTC reads off at all times even when pool is circulating. It usually reads the pool temperature. Also, i don't have a green pressure LED. Can't start the gas heater either.

If you have a control system (i.e...aqualink) controls on the heater should be set to remote. If that is the case and it still gives no temp reading, it is the thermistor (temp sensor). it is very common for rats to chew through the wire.

I have an mini max nt w 6800 controls ignitor

The voltage to this ignitor should only be 120 volts. If you are getting 240 volts to the ignitor, there is something really wrong with the wiring to the heater or in the heater.

Pentair Pool Heater reads HI

I am not sure if you have found the answer to your issue, or not, but just in case. The display showing HI means that the heater is "reading" the water temp at over 114 degrees.

This will go away if you change out the Thermister on the inlet manifold for the heater.

My pool heater will not start. The power light is off and the pressure sw is lit.

You must turn on the pump and let water circulate through the pool and the heater before you turn on the heater otherwise you will ruin the heater
