Hello :

It could be bad door switch or loose door switch mount . There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

or it could be problem with the control panel .

good luck .

GE Spacemaker XL 1800 turns on for 1 second and then resets. The display shows PRESS CLOCK.

Sounds like your losing power, have you tried it on a completely Different circuit??? Either that or bad fuse or connections inside of microwave.

I have a microwave GE spacemaker XL 1800 that stopped working. None of the touch control panel buttons work. Is like death. Is it a fuse? if so how expensive is it?

probably fryed the magnetron, with something like foil or metallic, try unplugging it for 12 hours maybe it will reset if not throw it out

No power - blown fuse?

If it was run without the fan a thermal protect device was more than likely taken out. Check for that and replace the fan.

It sounds like the main transformer has failed. It would be cheaper to replace the whole microwave than repair this one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My GE XL 1800 does everything except heat

This is not something that you can fix yourself. Most likely, the magnetron needs replaced, and this must be done by a service department. So, if the microwave is relatively new and expensive, take it in for service. If it's an old one or relatively cheap model, you would be better off replacing it because the cost of the repair would likely be more than the unit is worth. Hope that this helps.
