I have few questions before we proceed, is the question being asked before you reach the "logon screen"?. There are different passwords like bios password, hdd password, and user password. Hi my inspiron 6400 cannot boot up after trying several time .I press switch on, then after 3 second it goes off again.Battery fully charge.

After a lot of research and many attempts to unlock my Dell Laptop with biospassword, while talking to Dell Support, I finally found this website www.biosunlock.com

since this is a dell inspiron 6400 what i can suggest u is u can call up dell and verify the account with them and they will definately be able to help u out with ur issue and if u dont want to call them up just fill up the form by just going to this website and click on submit and it will help u to reset the bios password.http://support.dell.com/support/topi...n&lnki=0&s=gen,
