Tru GDM-47 cooler evaporator icing up.

Hello, I have a Tru GDM-47 cooler and the evaporator keeps icing up in back due to the compressor not cycling. It has a brand new compressor and if we turn the thermostat down, we can get the cooler to go down to the 20's Fahrenheit, but even set at a warm temp, the evaporator ices up.

The drain pan is dry. There is ice buildup on the top half of the defroster. The compressor runs nonstop. The temp doesn't get any cooler than 45. The condenser is clean enough to see through and the door...

Is the evaporator fan motor running? If it is only running at half speed or not at all, that could explain the ice buildup. If the coils are icing up because of no air flow over them, then the defrost heater stays on, trying to get rid of the ice.

Will not stop running

Are you referring to the compressor not shutting off down below or the evaporator fan inside the cooling area not shutting off? Evaporator fan always runs the compressor is controlled by the thermostat you could have a bad thermostat if the compressor never shuts off.

Water leak on back wall of my freezer and a hell of noise from my icemaker when on

Water leak and noise are due to wrong temp setting or malfunction of defrost cycking.Keep temp setting between 3 and 5 degree centigrade. Due to over frosting, the freezer fan fan hits over the ice and working to cool fridge compartment. And also check defrost timer, and heaterworking properly to defrost in time. And if your ice maker is making sound, due to:
  • You will hear a buzzing sound when the water valve opens to fill the water reservoir for each cycle.
  • Rattling noises may come from the flow of the refrigerant or water line. Items stored on top of the ice maker can also make noises.
  • The high-efficiency compressor may make a pulsating or high-pitched sound.
  • Water running over the evaporator plate may make a splashing sound.
  • Water running from the evaporator plate to the water reservoir may make a splashing sound.
  • As each cycle ends, you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your ice maker.
  • You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan.
  • During the harvest cycle, you may hear a "thud" when the ice sheet slides from the evaporator onto the cutter grid.
  • When you first start the ice maker, you may hear water running continuously. The ice maker is programmed to run a rinse cycle before it begins to make ice.

Avanti Beverage Cooler BCA5105SG running very loud.

Inside the cooler is the evaporator fan usually right in the middle behind a cover. As it slows down you have less circulation and ice forms quicker and cooling is diminished. Sounds like it is going out.

Our GDM-47 refrigerator is not cycling on and off. we changed the temperature control

Is it getting cold enough to cycle off. Should be around 10 degrees in the freezer. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will gradually cause it to warm up because ot the blocked air flow.
