I have a 2004 kawasaki stx 12 f jet ski with fuel problems and bad pump how do i empty and clean tank or remove it. Is there a fuel pump rebuild kit in place of the 400.00 pump cost? There is a lot of sediment in tank that destroyed the fuel pump and filter sock

There is an automitive application for this fuel pump. You have to pull the assempy out of the fuel tank then remove the pump from the bottom end of the assembly. The pump is available from most auto parts stores but I got mine from Rock Auto. Airtex e2111 Ford aspire 1994-1997 (Also some Suzuki apps) I took the 30 day warranty close out. ($66.00) It works perfect.

2001 Kawasaki 1100 stx di. Had a hose hooked up to it tonight idling and reviving it up, then it started to rev up on its own for a couple of seconds. Any ideas what it might be.

You may have leaking crank seals. If they leak they can cause air to mix with the fuel before it gets to the carb, causing the motor to rev high unexpectedly.

TROUBLESHOOTING FUEL PROBLEMS

carbs clean and checked the fuel pump diaphrams not gone hard etc ?? tank and fuel clean and fuel getting to carbs ?? pulse pipes on intake manifold to pump clear and if you crank engine you feel a pulse of air ? plugs sparking ? i would fit a fuel primer bulb inline of feed to carbs and prime fuel and see if helps and as engine running see if priming keeps it running then i would check pump !!

PROBLEM WITH MY KAWASAKI 2000 1100 STX DI

the oil injection unit on these skis can fail to test you will need to empty gas tank disconnect oil feed line to inlet manifold
then make a mix of two stroke fuel to the correct ratio say 10 liters. poor in to tank and take ski for a run say 10 minutes let it rest and run again if problem persists

it is possible you have leaking or blown crank case seals you will most likely need a professional to test for
i have provided you a link for free shop manual

I have a 1997 750ss kawasaki jet ski that has only done about 20hrs (has been in storage for 12 years) that was running fine (with a new battery) and has suddenly stopped. It turns over fine has new plugs...

There may be water in fuel, would suggest rebuild of carb, clean and new carb kit,the diaphragm may be damaged do to age,if fuel tank hoses were clogged then more than likely trash has clogged the jets.

Jet Ski Won't Start when Engine is cold

You must take out completely the carbs and clean them especially their canisters with the flowters. They may have jelled gas inside or closed air pipes.Use a carb cleaner spray and compressed air.

Jet Ski Will not start when cold

If the teeter/totter needles are gummy or covered with moisture corrosion it could be the reason the machine is so hard to start. When storing the jet ski's syphon all the gas out and burn it in your car or truck. Even if you stabilize it it wont be good fuel in the spring. Your plastic tank will not rust so remove the fuel. You may be able to clean them up by running a tank of Chevron Techron through them. Before riding we charge are batteries and start are jet ski's on the trailer/lift before dropping in the lake. This saves the battery. It takes more juice to start the boat in the water.
