It will depend on which computer configuration you have on your fryers. You can download this manual from frymaster to help, it contains all programming instructions, just find the computer/controller you have and follow the steps. Computers Operation Manual from Frymaster.com
Hi,
You can download the manual for your Frymaster Dean H14 on their site:

Hope that helps!
Make sure the thermostat is turned off. Units burners will light as soon a pilot in it is on.
3-2Lighting the Pilot and BurnerFigure 1Figure 23.Push the knob in and light the pilot. Continue to hold the knob in for about 60 seconds after theflame appears on the pilot. Release the knob. The pilot should remain lit. I suggest that you boil it out before using. This cleans the pot of any contaminants here is how to do this. Boiling Out the frypotTo ensure that the frypot is free of any contamination resulting from its manufacture, shipping, andhandling during installation, the frypot must be boiled out before first use. Frymaster recommendsboiling out the frypot each time the oil or shortening is changed.1.Before lighting the burner, close the frypot drain valve and fill the frypot with a mixture of coldwater and boil-out solution or detergent. Fill to the lower oil-level line.2.Light the fryer in accordance with the lighting instructions in Section 3.1.3.Simmer the solution for one hour. I would attempt to paste the complete ownersmanual but it's just way to large. I do warranty for Frymaster is how I have access to it. Good luck
1. The thermo couple/thermo pile
2. Gas valve sticking, intermittant operation, doesn't snap open when required all the time. THIS CAN ONLY BE PROVED WITH A MANOMETER and specialized meter that can measure thermocouple or thermoppile current, and volt meter.
I've worked on many a McDonalds Frymaster beeping fryers that intermittantly go into ignition failure that TURNS OUT TO BE THE ACTUAL GAS VALVE FAILING TO SNAP OPEN, and hang only once in a while. Gas valves are only good for so many operations, once that has been reached start failing. The indicator you gave, IT WAS USED BEFORE YOU GOT IT makes me believe it is your gas valve!
Tim, I am a commercial hvac, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment mechanic. I have rebuilt many of those units. While the notion that all it might be is a 20 cent resister is noble, you are forgetting that this particular circuit has been in service in airborn oil, dust, moisture, spices AND MORE THAT attack ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC/COMPUTERIZED equipment.
After many years of repairing vrs replacing, the failure rate was so high in other components and circuits that I realized it just wasn't worth it. Its NOT JUST THE COST OF SERVICE AND PARTS, but also THE DOWNTIME AND LOST SALES you need to take into consideration as well.
