The service manual gives the following explanation of your error code (Er FF): "Poor motor, hooking of wires to fan. Contact of structures to Fan. Snapping or short-circuit of L/wire (if there is no fan motor signal for more than 60 seconds in operation of fan motor)" So CoolTech is right!

You may have a serious issue with the wiring harness inside the refrigerator.  You will need to have the technician come back out and check the continuity of the wires leading from the control board to the fan checked out.  If there is no continuity, it is not repairable.

Refrigerator displaying error "ER FF".

Error Code "Er FF" indicates a problem with the unit's freezer fan.

The freezer fan controls the temperature in the freezer. The source of this error is most likely ice buildup. As with the Er IF error, allowing the unit to thaw should resolve the issue.

This can be caused by frost accumulationon or around the freezer fan. Unplug the unit for 3-4 hours to allowthis to melt off. If error code persists, call Customer Service.

Hope this helps.

My LG display is reading ER FF what does this mean and what can I do to fix it?

Error Code Er FF
This code is not to be confused with the O FF or demo mode error message. The "Er FF" error code indicates a problem with the unit's freezer fan. The freezer fan controls the temperature in the freezer. The source of this error is most likely ice buildup. As with the Er IF error, allowing the unit to thaw should resolve the issue. Contact customer service if the error code continues to be displayed after having thawed the unit.

Hope helps.

On the display on door. The message says Er FF. What is this and how do it clear. When I press buttons, nothing changes.

Er FF is Error, Freezer Fan. The fan blade in the freezer is most likely blocked by some ice or frost. Clear that and the control will see the feedback from the fan showing that the motor is turning and the code will clear.

ER FF in display ,DISPLAY IS LOCKED, LOUD NOISE

er ff indicates that the computer on your refrig is not sensing freezer fan operation. a guess as to your problem is that the fan is hitting on ice (the noise your hearing) and teh fan is not able to reach operation speed causing the error code. the fix would be to remove the ice from the fan area either maually or by unplugging the unit and letting it defrost for several hours. also to reset the computer you will neeed to unplug it for a few minutes then plugging it back up. hope that helps thanks Peyton

Error code ER FF

The error indicates the freezer fan is not functioning properly. The fan supplies cold air to the refrigerator that is why it seems warmer.
The fan may be frozen, try unplugging it for a few hours to let it thaw. Also check to see if something may have gotten into the vent holes in the freezer that could be blocking the fan from turning.
