I've lost coopix cd ,how to load pics from camera to computer

You can download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from here.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer, iPhoto, or Windows Photo Gallery.

I have just lost the photos from my new 8gb memord card using brand new powershotSX30IS.

You haven't given us much to work with. Unless you've deleted the pictures on purpose or formatted the card, your pics are still there. You could get a card reader and use it to download your pics to a computer. You could also take the card to a store like Walmart and use one of their picture kiosk machines to either print the pics or even make a cd copy of them. typrice_239.jpg

You might want to consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

You can download the current versions of Nikon software from Nikon's web site at http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software". Nikon Transfer and Nikon ViewNX will perform those functions.
