HughesNet HN9000 connected direct to computer w/XP Pro: cannot access it from other computers thru internet using MS's VPN, remote desktop, tsweb, or remote assistance. I believe ports 1723, 3389, & 80 are blocked since NAT is used. Any way to reprogram the HN9000 for port forwarding? Am able to complete these connections thru Windstream DSL, Consolidated DSL, and Suddenlink cable modem, usually by setting the modem/router to bridge mode, and using PPPoE, or plain ol' port forwarding.
On the Router check if you have UPnP enabled, if yes then Disabel it that should fix the NAT issue and then you need to open the port number 1723,3389. Once these ports are opened then you will be able to access it on the VPN and Remote Desktop Provided you have a WAN IP Address from your ISP. also check the Firmware of the router if its updated or not.
