How to crank the tyobi chain saw expander and make the chain saw move

You should be able to adjust the guide bar by loosening the lock handle and adjusting the cam to push the bar out to tighten the chain, If the guide bar is at the end of its adjustment the chain is stretched and needs to be replaced, as I understand your question.

Need replacement chain for remington 14inch, EL-1 and remington LNT Limb N' Trim 8. Could you provide me with current replacement chain information for both?

Hi jvaltha,

Here is a website that carries the chain for your EL-1 saw: http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/default.aspx?ext=true&itemid=091374S&size=small The part number is a replacement for the original chain, which Remington must not offer any more.

That same site also carries a chain for your LNT 8 saw, but there are different subcategores, LNT1, LNT2, and 8A and B. I'll paste the address for the page where you have to choose your option: http://www.desaparts.com/remington-chainsaw.html

FYI, You don't need to buy a remington chain to fit your saws. Just buy a chain that is the right length and matches the rest of the specs on your chain, the pitch etc. .050,.025, and so many teeth per inch and so forth. Then you can buy locally.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up...keeps me working. Thanks,

Handie Andie

My 4.7 2002 dodge 1500 will not start

i purchased a new timing chain set and the cam pickup was bad on the new cam gear and we had a no start problem. i took the valve covers back off put the old gear on the cam and it started. BUT be careful if u do that you have to wedge the timing chains apart before you remove that gear so the hyd adjusters do not over expand. 4.7 dodge engines **** BIg they made them trying to save gas but the parts and repair over-ride any gas saving i got.

My first chainsaw...am seeking general advice on product use etc

Ok to get correct tension on chain, basically loosen it a little until the chain on the underside of the bar is hanging a little... Now start tightening it up again. Basically you want the chain (the main part of each link) to be just touching the the underside of the bar. This will give correct tension... Note that chain does expand as it heats up so it may loose tension... so this is perhaps best done when the saw and chain has warmed a little. Also, new chain will stretch a little naturally so check tension each tme you use the saw.

If you do not know hoe to sharpen a chain properly, it is best to get someone else to sharpen it, or buy a new chain... Eventually all chains will need to be replaced because they can only be sharpened so many times before the cutting teeth become too small to work effectively or safely.

As for oil, if it is an electric chain saw, you only need chain/bar oil. Any good name branded bar/chain oil designed for chainsaws will work well.

Thanks.

I have a 97 nissan hardbody 2.4 liter. whenever i crank it from a cold start the timing chain seems to rattle. is this common and should i attempt to have it fixed [email protected]

Buy an upgraded timing chain guide, they are made of neaprene and steel replace chain while your this deep it is probly stretched. the old one is probably broken and peices in your oil pan. been here and done this. this is a factory upgrade.
