The water level detector pipe could be obstructed / blocked. This thin plastic pipe is at the bottom of the washer and as it fills to the correct level of water the pressure in the pipe activates a water level switch in the washer. Sometimes the air pressure pipe becomes blocked / obstructed or the contacts of the pressure switch become burnt. You can disconnect the pipe and blow through it and the pressure switch is normally factory set and does not need adjusting. Replace it if necessary.

Dishwasher floods instead of filling The water comes into the system but the flat plastic deposit on the side just fills with water and then floods, and no water goes into the dirty plate compartment (the...

Possibly food blockage. You can try shooting some air under pressure into the fill hole to blow it free. A simple shop vac on "blow" may be enough if you do not have a small compressor. Other possibility is the exhaust going into the garbage disposal is blocked so that the water cannot exhaust and any amount added floods the unit. (first item is most likely).

Good Morning Kristen - You may try to reset the dishwasher by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the dishwasher back on. If this proves to be ineffective, then the unit may possibly being experiencing a communication issue with the control panel, wiring failure, drain motor/pump or water valve. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

BOSCH SHE43RF5UC fills with water during off periods

You are correct. The inlet water valve is leaking. It might be worn or have debris stuck in it. There is a very small chance that the electrical signal from the controller is letting a small amount of current in and holding it open. To rule out this problem you can uplug the machine and see if it stops filling. Otherwise just replace the valve. IT is not hard to do.

Very small amount of shampoo got into dishwasher causing oversudsing. What can i do to dispel suds?

You have to wash it with plain water only. Try from the front and remove water using a small cup. Or use sponge and squeeze the water.

This is the only way!

Not filling with enough water only filling partway

The fill cycle is a set time and not measured. Either your water pressure is low at the dishwasher or the screen on the fill valve is partially blocked keeping the correct amount of water from entering during the fill cycle.

Standing water at drain in dishwasher after using.  Is this normal or should the water drain completely.

Most dishwashers leave a small amount of water in the bottom to keep the seals lubricated. If it is only a small amount of water it should be normal.

From what you are describing, the fill valve may have failed or become clogged. Start the dishwasher, when the water stops filling, open the door and check the water level. There should be at least an inch to an inch of water in the center of the tub. If not, replace the water inlet valve.
