I have an emachines t6420 that when I power it on the monitor won't come on searched through dozens of forumz and cant' find an answer. PLEASE HELP Thanks syber360
Start with the basics, so check the fuse in the plug, change wall sockets and if this doesn't help unplug the monitor and hold down the monitor's power button for 30 seconds (time it, it'll seem to take forever).
If non of this helps post back telling us if the power LED comes on, if the monitor comes on but gives you an error message and if pressing the menu button brings anything up on screen.
BTW Emachines T6420 is a model of desktop computer not a monitor, even if the monitor was supplied with the PC. The make/model should be marked on the label on the back of the monitor and would help us in helping you.
Lets start with the basics. Does the monitor have power, do you get a light on the monitor when you try to turn it on? If you do then do you get any lights on the computer when you try to turn it on? If the monitor has no lights on it check the power connections and if still no lights then try plugging it into a different outlet preferably directly into the wall. If still nothing then the monitor is bad. If the computer has no lights but the monitor does once again try plugging it in to a different outlet and if that does not work there is a problem with the computer most likely the power supply, CPU, or motherboard. If both have lights but you get no display on the monitor then check the connection between the monitor and the computer. if the connection is good (I would ***** in the screws on the sides of the connectors just to make sure there is a good connection) then there could be a problem with your video card.
