I own the Salter Stainless steel electronic bathroom scale that is pictured here for over 3yrs. on of the spring knobs on the bottom of scale broke. Do you know how/where I can get this replaced? Is there a part that I can order from Salter? Thank you.

I had the same problem and, suspecting that the metal contacts weren't making proper contact with the batteries, I used a long nosed pliers to gently bend all ten contacts towards to the batteries (there are eight small tabs in the battery compartment, and two on the battery cover). If you don't have a long nosed pliers a small screwdriver should do it if you held the fixed part of each set of contacts so it doesn't detach during the process.
Unfortunately, it worked, but only for one weigh, and then it reverted to "Lo". This happened twice, so I telephoned the Salter Customer Service Helpline (01732 360783) who recommended a reset, which is done by removing the batteries, standing on the scale for 20 seconds, and replacing the batteries. That also only worked for one weigh, so they are looking into it further and I'll post the results here, but in the meantime I hope one of the above solutions will work for others.

EE means that the scale has been overloaded.

it could be that it isnt on level ground keep getting on in different places to see when you find the spot where it shows your right weight..

I would contact the Company that makes the scales and inform them of their defaulty scale that you paid your hard earned money and see what they say, They may replace it if you send them the defaulty one! Good luck.

make sure the battery your getting is a good one longlastig and if that doesnt work then how nout the motor

I had the same problem with my Salter 987 scale. Pull the battery out for about 10 seconds and put it back in. Then push the scale once so it turns on. After the blinking stops, push it once more. The scale will now zero itself. After the scale has zero'd itself it may turn off after a brief moment. It's now ready to use normally. If you're standing on the scale when it's trying to calibrate to zero, it will assume your weight is zero. Don't stand on the scale after replacing the battery untill you first complete the steps listed above.

The scales display EE as they are reading a negative weight.

With the scales switched OFF place 2 glass plates on the scales and press ON.

The scales should now display 0g.

If this doesn't work add more weight and try again.

There is also 4 screws on the underside of the scales which hold the weighing bar in place, if you loosen the 2 smaller screws this should relieve some of the stress so less weight is needed to zero the scales.
