well first you need to determine which ps2 system you have and which game it is that will not load... if the game you are currently trying to load is a DVD-9 game then the only way to play it is on the Ps2 slimline....
this is a common issue with the playstation 2 due to dust on the laser lens. try a disc cleaning kit or take it to a electronics specialist. 9/10 times on mine and my friends ps2's this was the fault.
Maybe you're using a used game... check if the game has scratches on the back, if it does, most likely the game won't work. Ps2 usually has this problems.
ok right so your ps3 wont read disks huh well first of all id like to say this has happened to me twice and it has worked perfectly for me and i quarentee it will work for you ...
first save all your data to a memory stick
secondly go to settings, system settings, and format your ps3 by clicking on full format this will delete all your filles :( but will refresh your ps3
BTW this formatting thing will take atleast 4 hours so just leave your ps3 on and chill out watch t.v or something :)
Try copying save data from memory card 1 to memory card 2. Then start a new game but don't save,. turn off console then back on and load the data that you have copied, This should work
Hi DOMexcla,
this is a pretty easy fix.
You probally have the PS2 in a dusty area.
This will cause the dust to fall on the lens, thus, not being able to read it.
Try cleaning the lens, or buying a cleaning disk.
