My Lexmark 4-in-One X6650 doesn't scan to pdf file. All I need is a pdf file, not text for editing. When I click Create PDF, an error message "OCR Program Missing" pops up. I followed the instructions and reinstalled OCR program from the disc, but it did not help. There's no problem with jpg files.

If it truely has an optical character reader(OCR) built into the scaner it would not provide the software for it since the software is rather a large program an cost in excess of $100 just by itself.

The only way you can install the Lexmark scan software (OCR) is by using the installation cd. It's not available for download on the internet. If your computer is not recognizing the installation cd, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to request for that. They can send you one for free. Hope this helps.
