I'm not familiar with this exact camera but most cameras offer the date stamp option somewhere in the menu. Some menus can be intimidating but learning the options will make your camera a more usefull tool.

This is the only mode I have found that supports the date stamp on the Canon Powershot SD600. P.S. Don't forget to set the correct date and time in the screen MENU under the Tools tab!
press the function button and change the picture size to postcard-there is only one setting that allows you to do date and time stamp-once you have rigth pic size setting-pretty sure it says postcard-go back to menu and you will see date and time highlighted on menu
you can only do date and time stamp under function button go to bottom where you can change size of pictures -go to right to W or wide-this is only setting you can do date time stamp on-when you change pic size and go back to menu you will see it highlighted and you can now turn it on-equals about a 2-3 megapixel size picture only-also just leave settings alone and have printer add it-date and time our always in pic data and most printers can add it
Unfortunately, the Date Stamp feature only works with the "Postcard (1600x1200)" setting. Change the shooting mode to Postcard and you can then turn Date Stamp on/off.
You can only set the date stamp in the “Post Card” resolution mode. Hit the “function” button, go down to the resolution selection (L, M, S, W, Postcard, etc.). Pick the “Post Card” setting. Hit the “menu” button and the “date stamp” menu will be active
