Problems w/ remote; cannot turn set on, change channel or volume. The only way to watch tv is to manually turn on set, and turn on vcr/dvd player/tuner. Volume has to be corrected manually.
Have tried new batteries, using 'tv' button on remote to make sure it's in the right setting, and reprogramming tv using buttons on side of tv.

It's a common problem with this model. You must change the IR board. This is very easy to do. Remove the back panel of the tv and unscrew/unplug the original board located where the power button, volume/channel, etc is and plug the new one. I bought my IR at Ebay, but sadly have to say that it was not working. Watch out these bargains, :-(
I have Aiwa TV MODEL No. TV-A149 The problem that I am suddenly facing is that I can't change channels or volume or use any other function. I can't even turn it off with remote control.
Its stuck randomly on a particular channel that I was watching at that point of time.
Along with that channel it now shows a message in flashing red color that reads :- AGING 6EDEH
Now when I press ''Display'' button on remote control volume goes off and this code is shown :- S123 K234 Y 100 000 0
The numbers in the second line can be navigated by ''CH+'' button and changed between 0 and 1 by ''Vol+'' button.
I really don't know anything about this. So, please help me out of this problem.
If you can change channels with remote then TV is OK because it has only one infra red receiver (remote receiver) to catch remote signals. So TV remote seems bad as it works on channel buttons only. Here is an easy test for remote, watch remote front through any digital camera or even cellular phone camera will work and press channel button on remote, you will see blinking LED at front of remote while watching it through camera. Now press other buttons of remote and I'm sure that LED wont blink.
The up/down ch buttons will only go to channels that are set up in the tv....go to the menu....settings....and set up the channels you wish to view, once the channels are set up, the buttons will work
Well there is still a problem with the TV. I found that by unplugging the power cable that the digital channels worked. But, when I turned the TV on today the problem had returned, I had to take out the power cable again!
"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."
