You need a new lamp. The red light means the lamp failed to turn on.
You can find cheap ones on ebay for about $40. If you go to best buy they will charge an arm and a leg. You can change the lamp yourself and it will take less than 15 mins to do. The only tools youll need are a phillips screw driver and maybe a flat head.
Sound /No picture- Have you replaced the Lamp?
If Not, First make sure fans are running when Tv is Turned on .Then if fans are OK ,Most common reason is the Lamp.
What is the Model # that is printed on back of TV?
The Ballast that ignites the Lamp could cause the Lamp to fail and/or cause a buzzing noise. That being said, the Color Wheel in the Optical Block assembly could also cause a similar symptom. If Mitsubishi would be willing to help with the Lamp cost, I would call a local Mitsubishi repair facility to install it and see if the noise is still there and find out exactly what is causing it. Mitsubishi Customer Service Phone number is 1800-332-2119.
I hope this helps,
