If you removed the screws, they should be reinserted in the same fashion as when they were removed. One thing to remember, over heating can change the sockets overall condition and using it could lead to a fire in the long run. It sounds like the contact between the lamp (Bulb) and the fixtures base has a gap. Electrical sparks (arcing) will smell and thus is a danger calling out, shut me down.

I'm not where I can consult my tech notes but you can try resetting the lamp hours and the dust filter hours and can also check your lamp by removing it and looking straight into it to see if any visible cracks or bubbles are in the reflector. That would indicate a bad lamp. Oh yeah-- make sure the grill covering the dust filter is seated properly and there is a little "eye" sensor that detects whether the grill is present so make sure it is clean or it could send false signals.

try reflashing it with the latest firmware.

if there anre no leds lit on the top, the power supply needs to be replaced.

C160 has M1-DA connector. You need an adapter.
