usually when you click print and the box appears with printer properties, number of pages to print and size etc, there should be a document properties tab and the option to make it print darker, also check that the "Print in Grey Scale" is NOT ticked.

Does print is faded or it prints clear? If faded, just get your cartridge and shake it well to distribute evenly the toner. If prints clear, preview it first before printing and maybe the other print area you want is not included when printing. Just set the print area.
Is there a typical application you are using? I noticed that file size (especially in adobe) can be an issue. If you go to printer settings (start / settings / printers / right click on the 1320 and select properties) choose device settings and the very bottom item is printer memory. I would increase this to like 80mb.... hope this helps
Try unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in. Check to make sure that there are no paper jams or foreign objects stuck in the rollers. Reseat the toner and make sure the lid is firmly closed.
If ink is ok , then you may need to reinstall printer drivers.
Unplug printer USB. Go to control panel>>Installed printers and delete existing printer installation. Reinstall printer driver software using printer CD.
sounds like a memory issues or a windows swap file problem. when printing large docs u need to have some free memory in the computer. Also some printers 2 day used windows memory to print so if your pc only has small amount of free memory it can effect printing out large docs. also with a laptop it shares it memory with the video GPU. so you may need to upgrade your memory in your laptop .
