How do we connect the dance mat to the Wii console for DDR 3?

How do I connect the mat to the Wii™?





If your Wii™ is standing upright with the power button facing you at the top left, the top skinny side of the Wii™ that points up towards the ceiling contains the flaps. Lift the flap up, like how you would open a book, on the top of the console. You will find the ports under this flap. Plug your mat into the port that is the closest to where you would stick in the disc.
If your Wii™is laying flat horizontal, with the disc slot going left and right, and the power button facing you at the bottom left corner, the left skinny side of the Wii™that faces towards the left contains the flaps. Flip the flap down towards the left and you should see the 4 ports. Plug your dance mat into the port that is closest to the front of your Wii™ where you would stick in the disc.
Other steps to make sure you have tried:
Make sure that your Wii™ is turned off before plugging in your mat.
Also, make sure the connection is secure to your console.
Then with the game in the Wii™, turn on your console.
The mat should be recognized at that point.
