We have a GLTF2940FE1 Frigidare washer. I assume it is a later model of the 2940ES. It was purchased in July 2008. We are getting a moldy smell in the washer. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your post, debra!
I understand that the front of your Frigidaire washer is rusted. Typically rust is not covered under the warranty and in most cases, the door will more than likely need replacing. Could you please provide me with your model number? You can normally locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the upper front interior of the door frame on a front load washer. If you own a top load washer you would normally find the serial tag on the inside of the lid, on the right side. Once I have that information I can provide additional information for your washer. -Matt
Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

I got the following from Frigdare this morning. Do the experts agree with this suggestion or is this just a band aid for a bigger problem?
First rub some bleach around the door gasket. Let this dry. Next rub some vinegar around the door gasket. Let this dry. (Do NOT mix the bleach and vinegar) Then run a hot empty load of bleach in all three dispensers. Put 1/2 cup of bleach in the detergent dispenser and fill the softener and bleach dispenser to the max fill line with bleach. Once that is done repeat the process with vinegar. Please make sure you run a load of towels or some sort of items that will not matter if you get a little bleach on them once this process is done.
We do recommend Glisten to be run through the unit once a month to help prevent this from happening. A link is provided for you below if you wished to purchase this product.
