We have the four slice toaster. The arm on the left will no longer stay down. The side still toasts, but the arm will not lock in the down position.

Try removing the lower claening plate and remove the bread crumbs and see if that makes it work again. Many people don't know there is a cleaning try on the toaster.

Hi i have a four slice toaster it is only 13 months old but one side does not work please can you help as i think this should last a lot longer as it was not cheap i dont think it is fit for purpose i

Hi, Try to set the toaster to a darker setting. this will make the toast stay down longer. But keep an eye on it as it can burn. As for the other side not working. Unplug it and look carefully at the heat coils.
If there is a break in the wire you will have to take it to be repaired. Good luck.

The left side of the toaster does not stay engaged...if I hold it down it heats up but it doesn't stay down ..it doesn't catch.

There are two printed circuit boards inside front of toaster - One PC board for each side. The circuit board on the side that won't latch down in the "toasting" position , is defective. Now, does anyone have access to a schematic for this toaster?

The left side slots will not lock in the down position to cook the toast what can I do?

There may be a broken wire inside on that side of the toaster as if all power were out, neither would lock in the down position...

Krups toast supreme 4-slice toaster stopped working

The element has burnt out, IF you can get another it is worth repairing, IF NOT, then it is time for a new one.

The lever to push down the toast will not lock in to start the toastng cycle

Inside the toaster (behind the toast, bagel, etc. Buttons) there is a magnet, this needs to be clean for the taster to lock. First, unplug the unit. Now remove the cap on the thumb lever and the four screws at the bottom, separate the toaster. Now you will see the magnet, remove any debris with a dry towel or with your finger tip. After properly re-assembled this should work.

Only toasts part of bread

The solution I got from the FixYa team was: "Get a new toaster." Which is how I ended up with 4 new toasters that don't work. I'm glad I didn't PAY for THAT answer.
