Epson Artisan 810 will not feed heavy paper even though I set it for "thick paper"
If you are printing several pages of heavyweight paper (60-100 lbs), using the 810 unless its Epson paper, is going to be problematic. It is picky about the paper it uses. If you only need to get a few sheets through what I've found is bending the end of the paper makes it feed with no problem. Its not the pick up of the paper that's the issue, its getting around the U turn that the paper has to make at the back of the printer that causes the feeding problem. If you bend the leading edge and put it in the tray (bend facing up), it does through the end of the printer with no problems. I've only done this with 5 consecutive pages so it will feed multiple pages if you bend them. Don't crease them, just put a gentle bend on one end.

Hi,
Please be advised, there are two points about printing to heavy gauge paper with the Epson Artisan 810 :-
1. It may be proper to use Epson paper types .
2. If you are printing from MAC OS X applications, you cannot use thick paper with the manual feed method.
If Problem persists, let me know certain Details :-
1. Have you tried to Unplug the Printer for Few Minutes, say 60 minutes and then turn it ON?
2. How old the Printer is?
3. Have you tried to Change Type of Paper?
4. Which Operating System you are using?
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
CAP,
Thick paper does not mean any thickness. Please refer to the manual and stick to the specs defined therein. If you do not have the manual then go to http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=132634&infoType=Doc
and download the pdf or html version of the manual and refer to it.
These Epson printers are real "picky" about the "Stock" of paper that it will use, you must adhere to the Max thickens, otherwise it simply will not do it, you do NOT indicate what "Weight" of paper you are using, but if it will NOT feed,it must simply be too "heavy: you will have to use the correct stock.

My old Epson would feed this same brochure paper and never had a problem. It is 39 pound paper scored to fold in thirds. Any ideas?
I am using 39# brochure paper and it won't feed. I have made a copy of the manual and
can't find any solution that will help with the problem. I tried everything it told me to do but
nothing helps.
I had this problem. Unplug printer. Take paper try out of printer. Turn printer on its side, you will see a rubber roller. Soak the end of a small rag in rubbing alcolhol and rub vigorously on roller all the way around to clean **** off. The roller should not look smooth. This worked for me.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Tom, this fixed my problem too.
Your welcome, Glad I could help!
Thumbs up Tom. Another happy customer!
